Star Clusters
... The Double Cluster in Perseus
Though most likely known in pre-history to
those who first searched the sky with only naked eyes, this marvel of the
night sky was first cataloged in 130 BC by Hipparcos.
These
young clusters are situated in Perseus and are only a few hundred
light-years apart.
Even in binoculars, this pairing is exquisite to behold and one I always
look for right away on any clear night.
