Star Clusters ... The Double Cluster in Perseus

Though most likely known in pre-history to those who first searched the sky with only naked eyes, this marvel of the night sky was first cataloged in 130 BC by Hipparcos.
 

These young clusters are situated in Perseus and are only a few hundred light-years apart.

Even in binoculars, this pairing is exquisite to behold and one I always look for right away on any clear night.
