Star Clusters ... Globular Clusters

With populations of up to two million stars, globular clusters are far more distant to us then open clusters and nebulas. There are about 200 globular clusters in our Milky Way galaxy.

Known as the Great Cluster In Hercules, M13 is one of the best known globular clusters. It is visible with binoculars (as a fuzzy blob) in the constellation of Hercules and is often one of the first objects found by backyard sky gazers.

M13 has over 100,000 stars and is over 150 light years across.
