Pickup Height Adjustment

To get the best performance and the most sound out of your pickups,
the height must be set correctly.

Step 1:

Set LEAD pickup height to 1/16” below the high and low  “E” strings.  (See Diagram 1)

Step 2:

Set RHYTHM pickups a little lower, to compensate for more string movement. The height of the rhythm pickups (middle and neck) is crucial in establishing balance between the lead and rhythm strings. Placing your finger on the last fret automatically produces a guide for the correct height alignment for the pickups. (See Diagram 2)

Step 3:

When mixing “covered pickups” with “exposed pickups” (with raised exposed poles) one must allow for the height of the poles when setting the pickups' height. (See Diagram 3)
